Brain Gym® is a movement-based educational approach that supports how people learn, focus, coordinate, and engage with life. It uses simple, purposeful movements — including the original set of 26 Brain Gym® activities — to help the body and brain work together more effectively. Movement becomes a foundation for learning, communication, coordination, and emotional regulation across all ages.
Founded by educators Dr Paul E. Den nison and Gail Den nison, Brain Gym® draws on the principles of educational kinesiology — the study of how movement supports learning and cognitive functioning. Today, Brain Gym® is practiced in more than 80 countries, supporting learners, educators, parents, therapists, professionals, and communities.
Rather than teaching isolated skills, Brain Gym® focuses on enhancing the natural connections between movement and learning. This means preparing the body and nervous system so individuals can engage with focus, organise information with ease, and take part confidently in classroom, workplace, and life activities.
